The City Council is composed of a Mayor and six Councilmen elected from the City at large.  Regular Council meetings are held once a month on the second Wednesday of each month.  The Mayor appoints members of committees established by the Council.  The Council elects the President of the Council which serves as the Mayor in his/her absence during the meeting.  Whenever the Mayor is unable to perform the function of his/her office, the Council President of the Council shall act as Mayor.
